When it comes to airports and security, we have lots of tips and opinions!

We are constantly in and out of airports, traveling to and from the theme parks, so we know a thing or two. We feel like we’ve seen it all…that is, until we saw TSA‘s latest post online.

If you’ve ever flown in an airplane, you’ve had an experience with the Transportation Security Administration. TSA is the security that keeps us safe at airports while also simultaneously stressing us out as they yell at us to remove our hoodies.

Our team is in and out of airports constantly (for me personally, it’s almost once a month if not more), so we feel like there’s nothing that can surprise us anymore. Well, TSA heard us thinking this in our minds somehow, so they shared the wildest airport security story we’ve heard in a while. If you didn’t know, people try to sneak the oddest things through security, like snapping turtles. Yes, snapping turtles.

TSA issued a “desperate plea” online for people to stop hiding animals while trying to get through security. Specifically, on their bodies. In their caption, they shared a story about a woman who tried to hide twin snapping turtles in her bra before going through airport security.

Yes… We were shocked too. Sadly enough, they also confirmed that one of the turtles didn’t survive this attempted sneak through. If you didn’t know, lots of different species of animals are allowed to travel, but each airline has different rules and regulations, so they highly encourage you to reach out to their airline you’re traveling with before bringing animals to the airport.

In addition to animals, there are lots of items that are banned from going through airport security, like lithium batteries, replica weapons and toy guns, alcohol over 140 proof, smart luggage with nonremovable batteries, wrapped gifts, and certain foods. We were so sad to learn about this poor turtle’s demise, but TSA did share that the surviving animal was turned over to the Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Moral of the story: don’t put animals in your bra and follow the TSA rules at the airport, please. (We really hope you already knew this!) As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more TSA stories, tips, and tricks.
