Disney described the presentation as “a powerful showcase of Disney’s unrivaled scale across sports, streaming, entertainment, and technology — brought to life by a star-studded parade of over 100 talent. With a clear message to the marketplace, Disney reinforced its leadership position and bold vision for the future — delivering the content, capabilities, and culture that continue to shape the industry.”

The upfront had a heavy emphasis on sports-related programming, beginning with NFL superstars Patrick Mahomes and Saquon Barkley — who met in February’s Super Bowl LIX as members of the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, respectively — introduced Disney CEO Bob Iger to begin the festivities.

Over the course of the program, Disney announced  major sports series coming to Disney+:

The first is Vibe Check — a new “all-female-led sports-focused studio show set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ in late June,” announced by women’s college basketball and WNBA analysts Elle Duncan, Andraya Carter, and Chiney Ogwumike.

According to Disney, Vibe Check will feature three episodes a week, and “deliver fast-paced coverage of every sport with expert analysis, all-access moments, unapologetic opinions and a healthy dose of laughter — all while bringing audiences bold perspectives and unbeatable vibes.” Furthermore, the show will be anchored by a “a powerhouse panel of female talent” and “will spotlight ESPN’s most prominent voices, leveraging their expertise, insight, and storytelling to provide a fresh, perspective-driven approach to sports coverage.”

Disney also announced that the long-running sports radio program The Rich Eisen Show would begin simulcasting on Disney+ and ESPN+ beginning in the Fall of 2025. The Emmy-nominated program will stream during its traditional weekday slot from noon to 3 PM EST, with its “debut on both platforms coinciding with the launch of ESPN’s direct-to-consumer offering.”

Eisen, who had a somewhat legendary run as an ESPN personality and SportsCenter anchor from 1996 to 2003, said of the announcement, “To say this has been a long time coming is an understatement, especially considering I never thought a reunion with ESPN would happen in any role, let alone such a crucial one of ‘partner.’ Immense thanks to Jimmy Pitaro, Burke Magnus and Dave Roberts for their belief in The Rich Eisen Show and our amazing crew, without whom none of this could have been possible. I can’t wait to connect alike with new fans on Disney and ESPN’s many platforms and reconnect with long-time ones who remember me with hair.”

Several other major announcements were made during the Upfront, including:

  • Krysten Ritter is returning to her role of Jessica Jones for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.
  • The Kingdom, a 6-episode history of the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, is coming to ESPN.
  • The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach were on hand to confirm that the Emmy Award-winning hit series’ 10-episode fourth season will debut June 25th on Hulu.
