If you are headed to Universal Orlando tomorrow, we have an important reminder for you! Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey will be temporarily closed on April 9th, 2025.
The good news? The closure will only last a day, and you can ride the attraction again on April 10th. The bad news? If you were hoping to ride this attraction on April 9th, you will be out of luck. Guess that means you have to add an extra day at Universal Orlando!
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is located in Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort. You can find this ride inside the Hogwarts castle, and the queue takes you on a journey through various Hogwarts rooms. While you can still admire the castle’s exterior on April 9th, you won’t be able to head inside to ride the attraction.
It is always important to check the refurbishment calendars when you are heading to a theme park so you can be prepared for what will be closed during your trip. Of course, even if an attraction isn’t closed for refurbishment, you aren’t guaranteed to be able to ride it. Attractions may still close unexpectedly due to technical difficulties, weather, or emergencies.
Some refurbishments can last a long time, but it just so happens that the closure of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is very short. Soon, there will be a new Harry Potter attraction at Universal when Epic Universe opens on May 22nd, 2025. However, if you want to preview the park before it opens, Universal just announced that preview tickets are available for Annual Passholders, active 2025 Military Freedom Pass Ticket Holders, Universal Rewards Signature VISA Card members, and guests staying at any Universal Orlando hotel.
