It is time to throw on your robes and gather your wand! Universal just gave us a sneak peek inside the new Wizarding of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic land at Epic Universe.
Epic Universe is Universal’s brand-new theme park, opening on May 22nd, 2025. It will feature five themed lands with brand-new attractions, delicious dining options, and exciting shopping locations. We are so excited that we just got a closer look at what to expect in the new land!
Atmosphere
This land blends the 1920s wizarding Paris from the Fantastic Beasts films with the British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series, and you can really tell that by walking through the land.
Everything feels very grand in this space, and we feel like we have been completely transported into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, just like we do with Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
There are so many details that we could probably spend hours here and find something new at every turn.
There are two attractions in this land, the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride and the Le Cirque Arcaus show, which continue the storyline of the Harry Potter franchise.
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry
Before we hopped in the queue, we had the opportunity to check out the ride seats and were told these are “some of the most accommodating test seats.” They look comfy for a thrill ride!
Harry, Ron, and Hermione are going to watch the trial of Professor Umbridge — and so are you! To visit the trial, you’ll have to enter via Floo Powder, of course!

We had to take a second glance when we entered this room because we thought we were sucked right into the movie set!
SPOILERS AHEAD:
While going to the trial, a Death Eater helps Umbridge escape, and you have to help them capture her, but they’re not going to make it easy on us! You’ll have to fight Death Eaters and other creatures to help stop Umbridge.
There are animatronics and screen elements that interact with each other. Our reporter Quincy said the Death Eater animatronics looked so good that she thought they were real actors! The screens were crisp and combined with practical set pieces seamlessly.
While fighting to help capture Umbridge, spells will be cast, and you’ll “drop” down into the Department of Magical Creatures (it’s not quite a free-fall, but you will be pulled down!). You’ll come face to face with an Erumpent, a rhino-like creature, which you have to run from, too.
When you later find Umbridge, she casts a spell to fix a Time-Turner, but when it all goes wrong, you’ll be pulled into a time void before she’s taken back into her trial, and justice is served. Phew! What a ride!
While we were transported to the movie, there were so many more scenes and details from beyond the film. Harry Potter fans will be obsessed with the queue and spotting every hidden element they can find. This is a brand-new storyline made for the ride beyond the books and movies, and we’re expecting this ride to be popular.

ALL of it!!! I teared up along with Quincy as she took in every detail of the que! WOW! Just WOW! I’m sure I’ll have to pinch myself when I finally get to experience it all. It just doesn’t seem real that they were able to re-create something so magnificent and in the scale that they did it!
