Disney World is going through some changes!

The Muppets are moving, Dinosaur’s extinction is imminent, and the Villains are prepping to move into Magic Kingdom! While change can be fun and exciting, it can also be hard. One hard change is saying goodbye forever and now one Animal Kingdom attraction is gone permanently!
Animal Kingdom has some big changes coming its way and unfortunately, that means one long-time attraction has officially ended its residency. It’s Tough To Be A Bug is officially closed in the park after opening on April 2nd, 1998.

We stopped by the park today to see what changes were made and in true Disney fashion, they went to work overnight! The signage for the attraction has already been removed reminding us that Flik and his friends have moved out.

This show was inspired by the Disney film Bug’s Life and it featured Flik and his band of bugs teaching humans just how tough it is to be a bug. It’s always sad to see a long-running attraction close but to be honest, lots of people were happy to see it go!

We also spotted some construction walls up! The first is right where the entrance to the attraction was previously.

We also spotted some more walls deeper into the queue. We noticed some construction equipment within the closed queue as well which means Disney is already working away on the new show coming to this spot.

The divisive attraction is being replaced by Zootopia: Better Zoogether! This new show will follow Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from the Disney movie Zootopia as they take you on an adventure through the different biomes you see in the film.

Gennifer Goodwin, the voice of Judy, has returned for the project and it is expected to open in Winter 2025! We don’t have confirmation if Jason Bateman, the voice of Nick Wilde, is returning at the time of writing. Disney did share a sneak peek of the show online which you can see right here.

While we’re excited for Nick and Just to move into the Tree of Life Theater, we won’t deny that some of us are sad to see Flik, Hopper, and even those Black Widow Spiders go. Change is weird! Don’t forget to keep following AllEars for more Disney parks news and updates.
