5 VIRAL Tik Tok Disney World “Hacks” That Are Basically Worthless

One thing we try to do here at AllEars is give you all the information you need to make your next Disney World trip as great as possible.

Whether that’s helping you figure out your budget, decide on a hotel, figure out how you’re getting from the airport to Disney World, and how to best maximize your time and money, we’re going to give you our best tips and tricks. However, there are some people on the Internet that don’t always have your best interests in mind, and a lot of them are on TikTok. Now, we spend a lot of time on TikTok ourselves and we’ve seen some Disney World “hacks” that are worthless, so let’s get into them because being forewarned is being forearmed, right?

Park at Contemporary and walk to Magic Kingdom

So we’ve seen videos suggesting that the best and fastest way to get to Magic Kingdom in the morning for rope drop is to park at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and walk to Magic Kingdom. Well, there’s just one big problem with that: most hotels have cracked down on this, the Contemporary included. If you don’t have a dining reservation for a restaurant at the Contemporary, you don’t get to park there.

Also, note that there is actually a time limit on how long you can park at a hotel: three hours. So even if you book a breakfast reservation and walk to Magic Kingdom, you might come back to the Contemporary at the end of the day to learn that your car has been towed That’s not so magical, is it?

Cheating the height requirement

Not too long ago, a few TikTok videos were circulating of parents that were showing how they got their kid on a ride, although their child did not meet the height requirements for that ride. So they basically showed how to cheat the height requirements (and we’ve seen these awful suggestions before). Please do not do this.

Ride height requirements are there FOR A REASON. That reason is for your safety and the safety of your child. If your child doesn’t meet the height requirement and you cheat the system, you could be putting your child in harm’s way — and we’ve sadly seen some circumstances where this has been the case.  If everyone in your group wants to ride but you’ve got a little one who isn’t tall enough, use rider switch so that someone is always with your child but everyone still gets to ride.

Wear clothing that violates Disney’s rules to get free clothing

There are a LOT of videos of people who are wearing clothing that violates Disney’s clothing policy, either wearing clothes with offensive messages or language, clothing that’s transparent, clothing that’s excessively torn, or clothing exposing certain body parts. The idea is that if you walk into a park with such a clothing item, you’ll get a free item of clothing from Disney.

Disney is not giving you a free shirt if you wear something in appropriate

Here’s the reality, though: you’ll more than likely not make it through the park gates and will be turned away until you change into something more appropriate.

Skipping the line by pretending your joining a group

Another suggestion we’ve seen on TikTok is to skip a long standby line by cutting in line in front of others by saying that you’re joining a group already in line. Again, this is just a case of outright selfishness and against Disney policy. If you’re caught doing it, you could get yourself thrown out of the park.

If you really don’t like standing in long lines, invest in Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass.

Asking for Magical Moments

You’ve heard of Magical Moments — those little surprises that happen during the day when a Cast Member goes out of their way to make your day a little extra special. What makes them magical is that they’re unplanned and spontaneous. So please don’t ask for them.

A Cast Member is not required to make Magical Moments for visitors. Instead, they do it out of the kindness of their hearts, which is another reason these moments are so magical. But there are those on the Internet who encourage people to ask for those moments, and they’re generally turned down.

So if you see videos like these on TikTok, take them with a grain of salt. Sure, there are a lot of folks who want to offer helpful tips, but others are just offering things that will be worthless.
