There’s a lot you can do at Disney World without needing a park ticket.
You can go horseback riding, visit Disney Springs, drive a boat, play mini-golf, and much more. But did you know that you can also run around Disney World at one of the several runDisney events, giving you a unique experience of the parks? Coming soon, the Springtime Surprise race weekend will have runners feeling like heroes, and Disney has just released a first look at the new medals that will be handed out to participants!
This year’s Springtime Surprise Weekend theme is heroes! The runDisney event will take place April 3rd through the 6th, 2025, and will feature lots of well-known Disney, Pixar, and Marvel heroes. Run with these “good guys” all around Disney World in one or more of the races taking place that weekend.
You’ll find these popular heroes on the medals for this race weekend, so let’s take a look at what you get for running like a hero!
First, if you complete the 5K race, you’ll get a medal featuring Groot and a mix tape!
The 10K medal takes you from zero to hero with Hercules! 💪
If 6.2 miles in the 10K race isn’t enough and you’re opting to run the 10 Miler, you’ll get a super medal featuring Mr. and Mrs. Incredible!
If you finish all three races for a total of 19.3 miles, you’ll get the Springtime Surprise Challenge completion medal featuring our favorite robotic hero, Baymax, from Big Hero 6!
The Springtime Surprise race weekend will be lots of fun with special events just for racers, including Disney Heroes Yoga and the Springtime Surprise Splash nighttime event at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.
runDisney events are a lot of fun, even if you don’t LOVE running! You get to see characters, sing along to exciting music, and see the parks in a whole new way. If you get the chance, sign up for one of these special events for a unique Disney World experience.
