There’s a NEW way to skip the line for attractions in Disney World.

The new Lightning Lane Premier Pass system has officially launched in Disney World, and we’re testing it out! This luxury-style offering is more expensive than Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass, but also a bit more convenient to use. So what’s it like to spend a day in the parks with Premier Pass? Come along with us to find out!
Purchasing Premier Pass
Starting with the purchase process for Premier Pass, Disney World guests will be able to buy this up to 7 days before the start of their resort stay at 7AM, but there’s a catch. During the initial launch, Disney is piloting the system for ONLY Deluxe Resort guests, so you must be staying at a Deluxe Disney World Hotel to purchase.

When you purchase through the My Disney Experience app, you’ll have to buy each park individually — there’s no Park Hopping option here. (You can also ONLY purchase for one park per day.) Prices vary depending on the park and the date. The prices listed below are the cost to purchase for today, October 30th.

Once you’ve made your purchase, it’s time to start planning your park strategy!
Using Lightning Lane Premier Pass
Now on to actually USING the system in the parks! On the day of your visit, you’ll be able to see an eligible list of rides/attractions for your chosen park in the My Disney Experience app.

This list will show your “available experiences” based on the attractions whose Lightning Lanes you haven’t scanned into yet. Then, as you use those Lightning Lanes, they’ll move into the “Everyone’s Redeemed” section at the bottom of the screen.

Using Lightning Lane Premier Pass for rides is simple — you visit the ride whenever you’re ready to hop in line and just enter through the Lightning Lane, scanning your park ticket along the way. You’ll only be able to redeem each Lightning Lane ONE time throughout the day, so use them wisely!

Using Lightning Lane Premier Pass for shows requires a little bit more forethought. Your list of attractions will have showtimes for each of the Lightning Lane eligible shows, and you’ll need to make sure that you arrive at least 10 minutes early for whichever showtime you’d like to attend. That way you can actually enjoy the priority seating.

So far today, we’ve found the system fairly easy to use. If you don’t like booking and scheduling your Lightning Lane return times and want the flexibility of hopping in line whenever, this might be for you. Ya know, as long as you have the budget!
NOTE: Stay tuned to this post throughout the day as we update with more things that we learn!
