Yes, you read that title right!
“Mobile order at the Orlando Airport?” you may be asking, followed by either a question about what mobile order even is or asking for clarification that it’s at the Orlando Airport. If you’ve used mobile order in Disney World or Disneyland, this is the same idea! Essentially you use an app to pre-order your food, the app will tell you when it’s ready, and then you get to skip the regular line when you pick it up. And YES, it’s at the airport!
Orlando International Airport is one of Florida’s busiest airports, which makes sense since it’s only a short trip away from both Universal Orlando Resort and Disney World. And just like both of those vacation destinations, the airport is BUSY with thousands of people flying through it every day.
Just like peak dining times can really make you wait for your lunch or dinner longer than you’d like, you can use mobile order to skip that line (or place it ahead of time and do other things while you wait for your time to arrive), peak dining times at the airport can also cause long lines at popular spots. While missing a Lightning Lane isn’t ideal and can be a bummer on your day, missing your FLIGHT is an even larger risk.
It turns out that at select restaurants in Orlando Airport, you can use mobile order to skip that line and feel like a true VIP as you casually pick up your food or coffee and head to your gate with plenty of time to spare. One of our team members recently shared with us that she always uses Mobile Order at Starbucks when she’s traveling through any airport since it’s offered at all locations through their app!
But if you’re not a Starbucks person, what other restaurants can you use this hack for? Well, Chick-Fil-A typically allows you to use the app to mobile order BUT that won’t be the case in any airport due to the fact that these are Chick-Fil-A licensed locations, but not directly owned by the company. However, thanks to an app called Grab, you can still mobile order!
This app can be used at multiple airports all over the United States and the United Kingdom (but not all!), but since it is a third party, we do remind you that things can sometimes go wrong with communication between the app and the restaurant. Based on Grab’s website, though, these are the ten restaurants it can be used in Orlando Airport:
- The Club MCO (4) (Terminal B)
- The Club MCO (1) (Terminal A)
- The Club MCO (1.2) (Terminal A)
- Summerhouse (Terminal C)
- Raw Juce (Terminal C)
- Harvest & Grounds (Terminal C)
- Greenbeat (Terminal C)
- Desano Pizzeria (Terminal C)
- Cucina & Co. (Terminal C)
- Chick-fil-A (Main Terminal)
Plus, as of 2022, we’ve also seen signs outside of the airport’s Chick-fil-A locations encouraging you to scan a QR code to place your order ahead of time, so this is also something to keep in mind, and we’d recommend using it over Grab.
From our research, we also found that the following restaurants in Orlando International Airport will also allow you to mobile order through the app. Still, these can change sometimes depending staff availability. In full honesty, too, many restaurants around the airport have apps with mobile order capability, but many of them aren’t crystal clear about if their airport locations will accept mobile order, so we’ve only included the ones the airport itself has confirmed has mobile order!
- Burger King (Gates 1-29 & Gates 70-99)
- Dunkin’ (Main Terminal)
- Chick-fil-A (Main Terminal)
- McDonald’s (Main Terminal & Gates 100-129)
- Starbucks (Main Terminal & Gate areas)
