While we don’t have an opening date for Epic Universe just yet, it has been said it’ll be open in time for Summer 2025, which means we’re likely less than a year away!

We can’t wait to experience all the new lands this park has to offer, but one of the ones we’re most excited about is Celestial Park, which is the main land. The portals to the other 4 lands branch off from Celestial Park, and whether you’re coming in from the main gates or from staying at the Grand Helios Hotel, you’ll be entering in to Celestial Park. Now Universal creatives have confirmed that a nighttime spectacular is coming to this area of the park, and it may be unlike anything we’ve ever seen before!
In a recent interview on the Discover Universal Podcast, Universal Creatives Jonathan (JC) and Catherynne confirmed that while Celestial Park’s water features and lights will be programmed to have certain sequences and actions happen during the day, a nighttime spectacular has also been planned!

In Catherynne’s words, a big transformation is planned to go from day to night because there are so many lights that can be programmed. Universal has spent a lot of effort and their budget on including many more lights than what you would normally see in a park for this reason.

The story behind the transformation is that Apollo, the god of the sun, takes care of the park during the day, but when dusk falls, it’s time to hand it over to Luna, who is in charge of the luminescence of the night. This transition between the two of them is what will create this nighttime spectacular!

The lights will swell, partnered with beautiful music, until it becomes a dance of light around the land — the plants, trees, buildings — everything will be involved in this transition. And once the ceremony is complete and the baton has been passed over to Luna, the park is lit for the evening.

We think this sounds absolutely stunning and we can’t WAIT to see it for ourselves! It sounds like Universal knows exactly what will wow guests, and now it’s just to see if the reality will live up to the description.
