Recently, we got some huge news from the sports entertainment world.

We recently reported that a new sports streaming platform was in the works between ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery. This means that we could start seeing all our favorite games in one place instead of having to pay for multiple services and jumping all over the place to watch each game. But this news leaves some questions unanswered, such as when will we actually get to use this new service?
Currently unnamed, this new streaming service will be brought to us by ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery. The new streaming service will be a one-stop shop for a lot of sports entertainment that you love to watch.

Not only is ESPN teaming up with these other two companies, but they are also looking for partners such as the NFL, NBA, and NHL. If those partnerships become a reality, catching the latest game could be even easier.

So when will this service be available to us to use? In the next few weeks, we should see a Chief Executive of the service announced. Disney has announced that the streaming service should then be made available by this coming fall via a new app.

The new service will have access to approximately 55% of all sports content and bring games from professional leagues and college sports. You’ll also be able to bundle the service with Disney+ and Hulu/Max. A price has not been set yet, but it will likely be less than cable TV bundles for similar content. This is another way to bring direct-to-consumer content while chipping away at cable TV.

It’s unclear what will happen with ESPN+ when this new service comes out. It is possible it will dissolve into the new service, or continue to be offered separately or within a bundle. More information may become clear at the first quarter earnings call on February 7th. We’ll be listening in to catch all the info, so stay tuned to AllEars!
