VelociCoaster Unexpectedly CLOSES With No Reopening Date in Sight at Universal Orlando

When it comes to theme parks, ride closures can happen often. Sometimes weather can close rides (and Florida is notorious for finicky weather).

Sometimes rides close for technical issues, meaning they can be down for DAYS, and that’s exactly what’s happening right now at Universal Orlando.

So one of the most popular rides at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is VelociCoaster, which opened in the park in 2021. But if you’ve visited Universal Studios over the past few days, you might have noticed something: VelociCoaster has been closed.

Well, we checked this morning, and VelociCoaster is still closed to the public. According to Universal Team Members, technicians are informing them day-by-day if the ride will be open or not. There seems to be some kind of technical issue that’s keeping the ride closed.

At this date, though, there is no expected time for when VelociCoaster will be back up and running, so if you’re headed to Universal soon, keep in mind that this could still be the case. However, Universal’s Islands of Adventures has plenty of other rides to please roller coaster fans, including Flight of the Hippogriff, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and The Incredible Hulk Coaster.
