Disney World isn’t the only theme park undergoing big changes. In fact, we could argue that Universal Orlando is going through even more changes.

They are building an entirely new theme park, of course — Epic Universe. But, that doesn’t mean the original two parks — Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure — aren’t getting some love. And, new permits reveal that might be exactly what’s happening!
We’ve spotted quite a few new permits recently filed for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando! There are 11 in total, all with the same project name listed — P576.

So, how can we tell that they’re related to Harry Potter Land? Well, one of them specifically says “Harry Potter Windows.” The permit names don’t get too much more specific than that, with a majority of them being labeled as “enhancements.”

A majority of the permits are for various construction projects like mechanical, plumbing, plaster, electrical, and more.

What’s interesting is that a good amount of the windows in Harry Potter Land just so happen to be interactive experiences where folks can use their wands to cast spells.
If Universal is working on making enhancements to the interactive wand effects and window displays, it would likely require a good amount of construction — which means we could start to see construction walls up in the parks soon.

But, what we’re especially excited about is the possibility of new wand experiences. With the addition of a new Harry Potter Land at Epic Universe, it’s possible that Universal is going to go ahead and update the experiences and add more throughout the rest of the resort as well.

Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see what these permits truly end up being for, but we’ll be crossing our wands for new experiences.
