NEWS: Disney Reveals RELEASE DATE for 'The Marvels' on Disney+

Disney movies had a rough go at the box office in 2023. Some suffered initial box office struggles — Elemental started slow, but eventually became a hit.

Others continued to struggle, including The Marvels, which ultimately didn’t perform as well as Disney had hoped. Despite that, we were still excited to find out just when The Marvels would be released on Disney+ — and now we have our answer!

Good news, Marvel fans! The Marvels will officially be able to stream on Disney+ beginning on February 7th.

This movie features Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau who get their powers entangled with one another forcing them to work together to save the universe. It was originally released in theaters on November 10th, 2023, and didn’t do as well at the box office as Disney probably hoped.

When The Marvels opened in theaters, it premiered with $47 million domestically, a low for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchise. It has earned $77 million domestically and $187 million worldwide, making it the first MCU movie NOT to hit $100 million in the domestic market.

Analysts blamed The Marvels failure at the box office on studios rolling out too many films, focusing on quantity over quality. Disney CEO Bob Iger later commented that he believed The Marvels needed more supervision on set.

With The Marvels debuting on Disney+ soon, it will be interesting to see if The Marvels becomes another late bloomer like Elemental, which didn’t see success until it premiered on the streaming service.
