We hate to bring you sad news on New Year’s Eve, but unfortunately, we must.
2023 has been full of loss in the acting world. And sadly, another beloved actor has passed away just before the turn of the year.
British actor Tom Wilkinson, known for movies such as Full Monty and Michael Clayton, has passed away. According to AP News, the Oscar-nominated actor died suddenly at his home on Saturday, December 30th.
The statement released by his family did not share any other information. Wilkinson was nominated for a best actor Academy Award in 2001 for his work in In the Bedroom and also for a best supporting actor award in 2007 for his role in Michael Clayton along side George Clooney.
He recently reunited with the cast of The Full Monty in the Disney+ series of the same name.
Wilkinson was born in Yorkshire in 1948 and was appointed a member of the Order of the British Empire in 2005. He was 75 when he died. We send our condolences to his family.
