It’s hurricane season in Central Florida, and that means that those traveling to the theme parks have to be on the lookout for storm watches and warnings.

Currently, Disney World is in the path of Hurricane Idalia, and we’re keeping a close eye on the storm’s development to see how it will impact the area. Now, Disney has shared its own update on the situation.
The Disney World website was updated on August 28th at 3PM ET to say the following:
“Walt Disney World Resort is currently operating under normal conditions. We are closely monitoring the path of the projected weather as we continue to prioritize the safety of our Guests and Cast Members.”

We’ve been keeping an eye out for storm preparations in the parks and haven’t seen anything of note so far, but we’ll update you if that changes. In the past, we’ve seen Disney World change park hours and cancellation policies in the cases of particularly strong storms, so as Hurricane Idalia grows closer, it’s likely that we’ll get more information from Disney.

We’ll keep you updated here at AllEars if any more announcements are made, so stay tuned for the latest.

“In the path”? I don’t think WDW is or ever has been in Idalia’s cone of uncertainty. Hurricanes are serious enough without unnecessary hype
My Imaginary Friend Max is over there with his girlfriend and I hope that they stay safe during the Hurricane.
I’m here, Grand Floridian…
