But lately, an iconic show has been missing from Disneyland. Fantasmic! suffered a fire-related incident back in April, and the show has been suspended since. Now, Disney has announced details on when we may be able to see the show once again!

Disneyland has announced that Fantasmic! will be returning to the park sometime in spring 2024 — but no concrete dates have been announced just yet.

Not only that, but when the show returns it will be different. The show will not include the Maleficent dragon figure that was the source of the fire, but will include “new special effects and a thrilling new battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent.”

Disney shared that Cast Members and performers have been informed of the downtime and will be trained on other opportunities.

In the meantime, you can catch nightly entertainment on the Rivers of America, Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band in New Orleans Square, and more.

Disney’s official statement reads, “Our goal is to always deliver the best possible show for our guests. With that in mind, we are planning the return of “Fantasmic!” with exciting new magic in spring 2024. As teams continue work on the show, we have launched nightly entertainment on the Rivers of America this summer and we are working on even more exciting entertainment offerings for our guests later this year.”
