2023 is when the company celebrates its 100th anniversary, and we’ve already started to see special offerings pop up in the theme parks. We also know about other ways Disney is celebrating, including a new film and a traveling exhibit. But now, we’ve got more details about an additional Disney100 offering!

According to Deadline, Disney premiered its new 100th Anniversary short film at the Annecy International Film Festival on Sunday. The short film was created by Dan Abraham and Trent Correy and is titled Once Upon a Studio.

It’s meant to pay tribute to Disney for the big anniversary, and it even includes a cameo by legendary 70-year animator Burny Mattinson. The premise of the film is that Mickey Mouse is rounding up iconic Disney characters for a photo op.

According to theme park reporter Scott Gustin, this short will premiere publicly with the release of Disney’s new movie Wish in theaters. Forty different voice actors returned to record dialogue for the short.

We’re very excited to check out this new short when it comes to theaters later this year! Wish will be released on November 22nd, 2023, so it looks like we’ll all have to wait a few months.
