2 CHANGES Are Coming to Orlando Airport

If you fly for your Walt Disney World vacation, then you probably have flown into Orlando International Airport.

Orlando International Airport

In September 2022, a new terminal opened at Orlando International — Terminal C. The new terminal opened with some Disney fan favorites like Wine Bar George and a new Polite Pig location. Now, it seems that even more expansion might be coming for Terminal C.

According to a press release from Orlando International Airport, “MCO has been awarded $69 million in federal funds for two Terminal C expansion projects”. They were notified Monday of the funding allocation. These two projects were temporarily suspended during the pandemic due to budget concerns.

The two projects include the construction of four additional gates and a 450 foot pedestrian bridge connected from Terminal C to the train station.

“As Orlando International continues to handle record-setting passenger totals, it is vital that airport improvement efforts keep pace with our traffic,” said Kevin Thibault, GOAA Chief Executive Officer. “Terminal C is the future of transportation in Central Florida and its multimodal connectivity will increase our capacity to accommodate projected future demand.”
