It’s no secret that Mirabel, Luisa, Isabela, and the rest of the Madrigal family won the hearts of many after Encanto was released in November of 2021.

Encanto proved itself to be a beautiful movie showcasing the hardships faced by immigrant families: secrets, importance of sacred tradition, coming of age, and the unconditional love that ties it all together. This beautiful story was not only told by breathtaking visuals and animations, but through music. For the entirety of 2022, it didn’t matter if you were 6 or 46 — you were most likely singing songs from Encanto for days after watching the film.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 5th, 2023, and Encanto took home some gold hardware. These awards showcase the best of the music industry, and it isn’t hard to believe that several pieces of Encanto were deemed the best in the industry for 2022.

Entertainment Weekly posted a full list of the Grammy winners, and we loved how often we saw Encanto on the list! As Mirabel would say: “I think it’s time for a Grammy roundup!”

We love her!

Here’s all the gold that Encanto took home:

Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media

From “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” to “Surface Pressure” to “Dos Oruguitas,” Encanto’s soundtrack not only accompanied the film perfectly, but proved to tell the story of the Madrigals on its own. Encanto unsurprisingly took home the Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media

Germaine Franco created scores to perfectly accompany the film as well as the lyrical soundtrack. Franco stole the hearts and wet the eyes of Encanto viewers with powerful instrumental pieces that captured the tone of the film from start to finish. Franco took home the gold for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for Encanto.

Best Song Written for Visual Media

When you think about Encanto, you think about Bruno — let’s face it. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” not only got stuck in the heads of those who watched Encanto, but went viral on TikTok, became inspiration for memes across the internet, and we see the lyrics on merchandise seemingly every day in the parks. Writer Lin-Manuel Miranda took home the Grammy for Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

Bruno!

We’re not surprised at all about these Grammy wins, and we’re so happy that the world loved Encanto just as much as we did. Congratulations to the team behind this awesome film!
