If you’ve been to Disney World anytime after 2013, chances are that you used a MagicBand in the parks — and you may have even been able to try out the new MagicBand+ if you’ve been in the last couple of months.
Whether you prefer the original MagicBand or the new MagicBand+, they both provide similar features in Disney World, like entry into the parks, Lightning Lane access, merchandise purchases, and more. And the MagicBand+ adds even more fun with new features. Disneyland, meanwhile, never launched the MagicBand system — until now!
The new MagicBand+ takes the original MagicBand and adds more features like lights, haptics, gesture recognition, and more, and it officially launched in Disney World on July 27th, 2022. Now it’s Disneyland’s turn, and the MagicBand+ will debut on the West Coast this fall.
Disneyland visitors who purchase a MagicBand+ can sync it to their account in the Disneyland app, and it will be able to interact with “World of Color” in Disney California Adventure park, Fantasmic!, and select nighttime shows in Disneyland park.
The Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters scavenger hunt will also be coming to Disneyland, located at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park.
The MagicBand+ lights up! Most MagicBand+ designs are available online for $34.99 or $44.99, depending on the design you choose. If you want to go ahead and order one, you can find a lot of options on shopDisney!
