NEWS: Florida Reports Another BIG Increase in Tourism

In case you missed it, Disney just reported a huge revenue increase compared to this time last year.

Hey, Mickey!

We recently got an update on Disney’s financial standings in their second quarterly earnings call where we learned that revenue grew 23% for the quarter with the parks division nearly doubling compared to the prior year. And, if this didn’t signal that there’s been an increase in vacationers in 2022, the Florida Governor’s office just shared a tourism update that confirms travel is still on the rise.

According to Click Orlando, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office just reported that there was a 14% growth in visitors to the state of Florida compared to this quarter in 2021. This number takes into account more than just those traveling to Disney World, but we have also been seeing a ton of crowds in the parks in 2022 (particularly at the beginning of the year).

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

In total, the state reports that there was an estimated 36 million visitors to the state of Florida between January and March 2022. This includes both domestic and international travelers.

Florida officials believe that this number will only continue to increase throughout the rest of 2022, with the Florida economy recovering well before the time period that analysts originally projected. Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for updates, and in the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney updates!
