Genie+ is coming to Disney World tomorrow, October 19th.
The main feature of Genie+ is that guests can make reservations to skip the line at several attractions around the parks. But if you buy Genie+ ($15 per ticket per day), you’ll also have access to a few more features, like augmented reality photo lenses! We’re taking a closer look at those AR lenses now.
Basically, the AR PhotoPass Lenses are like Snapchat filters. You can take photos with these lenses anywhere in Disney World (including in the parks, at your hotel, on Disney transportation, etc.), and you’ll even get to use them at home for 45 days after your Disney World trip.
What exactly are these lenses? Well, we know that one of them will allow you to take a photo in front of Disney World’s Cake Cinderella Castle from its 25th Anniversary. So if you missed out on the Birthday Cake Castle 25 years ago, never fear! You can re-create the moment with a PhotoPass lens.
There will be several other lenses, including some that turn you into a Disney villain or a chef alongside Remy from Ratatouille.
One PhotoPass lens that we’re super excited for will come in handy after your trip (remember that you can use them for 45 days after your trip ends). You can pose with a friend (or your pet) in a scene from Lady and the Tramp!
