On your mark, get set…GO!
In-person runDisney races are set to return to Disney World this year and more races have already been announced for 2022. One of the big race events returning in 2022 is the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend! Wondering what the themes will be for each of the races for that marathon weekend? We’ve got all the details here!
The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will take place from January 5th through the 9th, 2022, in Disney World! The race will actually take place right in the middle of all of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.
If you’ve been wondering what each of the weekend’s races will be themed to, we’ve got an update for you! runDisney recently shared images showing the characters inspiring each of the races.
There’s Pluto for the 5K, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit for the 10k, Donald and Daisy Duck for the Half Marathon, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse for the Marathon.
runDisney also shared the images for Goofy’s Race & a Half Challenge (featuring Goofy, of course), and the image for the Dopey Challenge (featuring the lovable Dopey).
Although the race weekend won’t take place until early next year, you’ll be able to register soon. Early registration already opened for Club runDisney Gold & Platinum members. General registration for the in-person races will open on July 27th.
You can also participate in virtual races for the 2022 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. Registration for those virtual races will open on July 30th.
If you’re hoping to participate in any of these races, be sure to mark your calendars so you can sign up for them as soon as registration opens up.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more details about this race and other runDisney events coming to Disney World. Stay tuned for more details.
Will you be participating in any runDisney races soon? Tell us in the comments!
