EVERYTHING You Need To Know BEFORE Disneyland Resort Reservations Open!

We are quickly approaching the end of the month which means that we are close to the reopening of Disneyland Resort!

Disney characters are ready to get back to greeting park guests!

We are already counting down the days until we can get back to riding some of our favorite rides, saying hi to Disney characters, and chowing down on Disneyland snacks. And, if you’re hoping to visit Disneyland when it reopens, tomorrow (April 12th) is going to be an important day with tickets, park passes, and hotel reservations going live!

It can be hard to secure these highly-desired reservations, so we’re laying out all the details you’ll need to have the best chance at getting all the tickets and reservations you want!

Disneyland Resort Park Tickets

Tickets for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will go on sale tomorrow at 8AM PT. At this time, any guests who had not previously purchased a park ticket will be able to get one and make their park pass reservation.

Both Park Hopper tickets and 1 Park Per Day tickets will be available when reservations open. And, much like ticket sales prior to the closure, pricing will be on a tiered system with higher pricing for tickets that include more desired dates to visit.

If you’re hoping to visit Disneyland during the first two weeks of reopening (April 30th through May 16th), then you’ll want to be sure that you’re purchasing Tier 5 Tickets or Peak Tickets. Tickets in lower tiers will be blocked out from both parks through May 17th and face other blockout dates.

No matter which park ticket you’re planning to buy, you’ll have the best chance at beating the virtual queue by having more than one browser open on your computer. And, we even recommend adding your phone into the mix and opening the queue in the Disneyland app. You’ll probably still face a wait time, but you’ll have more chances of getting in quicker!

Keep in mind that only California residents are able to visit when the parks initially reopen due to the current state guidelines.

Disneyland Resort Park Pass Reservations

Once you purchase your park tickets, you’ll then be able to make your Theme Park Reservation for the dates and parks that you plan to visit. This is an important step because you’ll need to be sure that you have secured both a valid ticket and a park reservation prior to your visit to Disneyland since the parks will be operating with limited capacity.

Like Disney World, Disneyland will require a park reservation to enter

To book your park reservation, Disneyland is utilizing a four-step process that you can access on both the Disneyland website and the Disneyland app.

When you open the reservation page, you’ll want to be sure that all valid tickets are linked to your Disney account. Then, you’ll select up to 10 tickets to book a park pass reservation for.

After that, you’ll be led to the park reservation calendar, where you can see which dates have park availability. Disney is using icons on the calendar to indicate which parks are still open, so be sure that you’re looking at the key to know which parks you can book.

If you’re booking a park reservation under a Park Hopper ticket, then you’ll be asked to confirm which park you plan to visit first. Remember that after 1PM, you’ll be able to park hop to the other park.

You’ll confirm your reservation and can cue the Disney dance party because you’re going BACK to Disneyland soon!

Keep in mind that you may experience some wait times in a virtual queue prior to accessing the park reservation system. Similar to purchasing a park ticket, we recommend pulling the page up on both your web browser and mobile device through the Disneyland app. In our experience booking the reservation when they opened on April 12th for those who had previously purchased a Disneyland park ticket, we found that our mobile device was much faster.
