Disneyland Resort has been closed for almost a year, although its Downtown Disney area and Buena Vista Street have opened for limited shopping and dining. A second shutdown order in December further limited dining there to to-go orders only, although that order was recently lifted.

One Southern California theme park, SeaWorld San Diego, reopened its doors today, but as an accredited zoo.  According to Attractions Magazine, visitors can now enjoy outdoor animal exhibits, as well as attend live educational presentations with social distancing protocols in place. Currently, no rides are open. The park operated with a similar system during its phased reopening last year.

SeaWorld will now be open on Fridays from 11 AM to 7 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sundays from 10 AM to 6 PM. It will continue to operate under California’s health and safety guidelines, which include temperature checks, enhanced cleaning, face mask requirements, and capacity limits.

Reservations and date-specific tickets are required to enter SeaWorld and can be purchased online. There are a limited number of tickets available per day. Check back with us for more theme park news!
