The Five Best Things to Do While Waiting in a Disney Parks Line

A big part of touring the Disney Parks is (unfortunately) waiting in line.

Still, just because you might find yourself standing in a queue for longer than you’d like doesn’t mean it has to be boring! We’ve got a few great suggestions for how to pass the time.

Here are the five best things to do while waiting in a Disney line!

1. Heads Up!

Heads Up! is a super fun charades-style game that comes in the form of an app on your phone. You can snag it in the App Store or the Google Play Store. Basically, a round consists of a bunch of different terms. One player holds the phone on their forehead, and everyone else tries to act out or describe the term. The player can then either guess or pass.

This is such a fun social game and one that we love to play in line. It makes the time fly, and you might even find yourself making friends with other guests as they try to help out.

2. Play Disney Parks App

Disney also has its own official games to play in line! Grab the Play Disney Parks app, and you’ll find yourself playing themed games based on the area of the park you’re in.

Sometimes, that means trivia based on a specific land (like Fantasyland), but some attractions have specific games! On Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run you’ll find yourself interacting with Hondo Ohnaka for smugglers training. The story leads right into the ride!

3. Hidden Mickey Searches

Standing still for a long time might seem pretty boring but it can actually give you a really good opportunity to see if you can spot some Hidden Mickeys! Imagineers build little Mickey heads into the atmosphere all the time, and they’re sometimes super hard to find.

Even if you don’t spot an official Hidden Mickey, you might be able to find three circles all together that look close enough. This can turn into a fun competition with the fam!

4. Check Out the Theming

Speaking of looking around at the theming, this can be a great way to pass the time on its own. Disney pours a lot of effort into the theming of the ride queues, and if you don’t look around, you’re sure to miss something spectacular.

We love keeping an eye out for hidden details and just checking out the small parts of the immersive environments.

5. Update Your Plans

And lastly, a Disney trip can mean a lot of changing plans. Maybe you’re looking for a Fastpass or Dining Reservation that has been unavailable. Lines give you the perfect time to get your fiddle-faddle* on!

If you spend a queue refreshing the planning options, you might just find yourself with a hard-to-get last minute reservation.

*Fiddle-faddle is Molly’s fun term for toggling between screens to refresh content in My Disney Experience in order to find a time for dining or FastPass+ that will work for you.
