According to Orange County Register, Newsom stressed at a news conference on November 30th that the  “If these trends continue, we’re going to have to take much more dramatic – arguably drastic – action, including taking a look at those purple tier counties,” suggesting that a possible stay-at-home order was on the way. Effective Sunday December 6th at 11:59PM, most of Southern California will indeed be under a new stay-at-home order.

Announced today, the new stay-at-home order will ban gatherings of people outside of immediate households with some exceptions and requires travelers arriving from outside the state to fill out an online form.

Retail businesses can remain open for in-person shopping as long as it fits in the curfew given by the state or county. The region consists of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, Inyo, Imperial, Mono, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties.

Under this new order retail can remain open at 20% capacity and restaurants can remain open for takeout and delivery only. This will affect Downtown Disney and the newly reopened Buena Vista Street, by closing some of its operations.

On the Disneyland Resort website, it says that beginning December 7th,  restaurants and dining locations that do not offer take-out will close. It also mentions that retail locations will remain open.

In a recent update, it is noted that Disneyland Resort guests are not allowed to eat or drink while on property. Food and beverage that is purchased in the area must be taken to-go.

The stay-at-home order is currently projected to be in effect until December 28th, although the order can be extended if conditions do not improve. If the rate is still under 15% for ICU availability, it will likely be extended.
