When Emmy nominations were announced in January, Disney+’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian received fifteen individual nominations.
In total the Disney Company earned 145 Emmy nominations this past July, making it a big year for Disney programming across its networks and streaming platforms.
With the help of The Mandalorian, titles from the Walt Disney Company took home 24 awards. Seven of those honors went to The Mandalorian, including the award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for Episode 2: The Child.
It wasn’t just The Mandalorian bringing home the awards for Disney, however. Forky got in on the action, taking home the prize for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program for Forky Asks A Question: What is Love?
Uzo Aduba was honored for her role as Shirley Chisholm in FX’s Series Mrs. America, and ESPN took home the prize for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series for The Last Dance, the in-depth retrospective on Michael Jordan’s 1997-1998 Championship Season with The Chicago Bulls.
