Characters are popping up at Walt Disney World in all kinds of new and unique ways!

At Magic Kingdom, some of our favorite characters have been appearing in special cavalcades throughout the day. While at Animal Kingdom, we’ve been waving at our favorites from afar as they pass by on boats, and at Hollywood Studios we’ve been greeted by our friends as they drive by in their fantastically designed vehicles. We were pleasantly surprised to find two new characters greeting in EPCOT the last time we visited!
Toward the back of the United Kingdom pavilion in EPCOT there is a small gazebo that used to be the home to entertainment offerings like the British Revolution.

Although we can no longer sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody with this dynamic group, we can now meet two of our favorite friends from the United Kingdom — Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland! Both characters stand within the gazebo for their meet-and-greets, and the gate to the steps which lead to the gazebo are closed, all to maintain appropriate social distancing. None of that stopped us, however, from taking the perfect selfie with our friends!

Mary Poppins was practically perfect in every way, as always! We just loved her Jolly Holiday dress and beautiful umbrella! And just look at that perfect cup of tea!

She looked absolutely ready to hop on a carousel horse and ride around. We only wish we had brought some chalk to get our adventure started!

It truly was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to chat with Mary Poppins! Next time we’ll have to bring our Mary Poppins mug with us so we can share a spot of tea with her.
Our curiosity got the best of us and we just had to visit the United Kingdom pavilion again to see if more of our friends would appear. We were pleasantly surprised to find Alice in Wonderland greeting guests in the same location!

Alice showed us her very best curtsey, and we were extremely impressed. The Queen of Hearts would have no complaints here!

Our socially distanced selfie created an unexpected and fun effect. It almost looks like Alice had a bit too much from that “Drink Me” bottle and shrank down in size!

We had a great time talking with Alice about how ALL ways are the Queen of Hearts’ ways! We’re looking forward to seeing Alice again in the future, and maybe we can even have a mad tea party with her and bring our new Alice in Wonderland Loungefly bags!
While character interactions have certainly changed, we really enjoyed the time we got to spend talking to Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland, and we’re looking forward to seeing more fun character interactions popping up around Walt Disney World.
