Musical Theatre fans recently got to watch a special recording of Hamilton while Comic-Con enthusiasts received a panel viewing from home. It’s time for Star Wars fanatics to get their turn with new entertainment!
The Bad Batch is a completely new series that will premiere exclusively for Disney+ in 2021. The show brought to life by Dave Filoni, the same Executive Producer who brought us The Mandalorian and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
The show is inspired by the experimental clones introduced in The Clone Wars. It will follow the group as they navigate their way through the aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinary soldiers and a cohesive crew. During this time, they will take on mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find purpose in the time of post-war.
Although Disney hasn’t released a ton of details about the new show yet, the storyline will follow a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army and will take place immediately following the Clone Wars.
Agnes Chu, Senior Vice President of Content at Disney+, stated that the series will give “…new and existing fans the final chapter of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ has been our honor at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series…While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning…”
