Disney has been looking for ways to add magic into people’s lives while they’re at home.

Recently, Hamilton‘s airing date on Disney+ was moved up as a happy surprise to viewers. However, while the Disney Parks are closed currently, other Disney productions are shutting down as well.
Playbill has reported that Disney’s Frozen the Broadway musical will not be re=opening at the St. James Theatre. This was announced shortly after the Broadway closures were extended once again until September 6th.

The theatre confirmed that Frozen took its final bow on March 11th after running for 26 previews and 825 performances. However, Disney Theatrical Productions hopes to continue with its scheduled national tour with some international stagings. Parts of the Broadway production will be reused and re-purposed during other Frozen shows.

Recently, Ciara Renée, McKenzie Kurtz, and Ryan McCartan joined the cast as Elsa, Anna, and Hans respectively. The Disney Theatrical Productions President Thomas Schumacher released a statement saying that, “Frozen, like all shows, is wholly dependent on those who create and perform them but this was an uncommonly close and talented group and they’ll be missed.” He also took the time to acknowledge fans and audiences that helped the show grow into the wonderful production that it was.
