Move over X-Men, there are some New Mutants in town! There is a trailer up for 20th Century Fox’s long-delayed The New Mutants.
For a while the fate of The New Mutants film was unknown. Originally set to have a April 2018 release date, it was delayed and had re-shoots. Then 20th Century Fox was bought by Disney, and it was thought they would be canceling it in an effort to bring all the Marvel characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now we have a real release date: April 3, 2020. And even better we have an actual trailer, and it is scary. The film will break the standard superhero style and will be more of a horror film. Check out the new trailer below.
It was originally thought the re-shoots were done to tone down the horror of The New Mutants, but it has been reported that the film will be released with the original cut and the original horror tone.
Based on a Marvel comic with the same name, The New Mutants follows a group of young mutants. They aren’t any that we have seen in the X-Men films so far; this team is made up of characters with names like Cannonball, Wolfsbane, and Sunspot.
We will definitely be catching The New Mutants in April, even if we have to watch it through our fingers.
