Well, that was fast! In the past week the FuelRod kiosks in Disney World have gone from free swaps, to a notice of a $3.00 swap charge that would start today, to now being swappable without a fee.

Overnight the stickers that were placed on FuelRod kiosks in the parks and resorts stating there would be a $3.00 swap fee have been replaced with a new sticker stating the FuelRods are swappable.
The change comes after much dissatisfaction from FuelRod owners and users as well as a class-action lawsuit filed against FuelRod’s parent companies.

The new wording is one word “swappable”, which the FuelRods always were, and were going to continue to be so. The new wording does not say “free” or “unlimited” as the machines used to say.

We will continue to follow the FuelRod swap fee drama and keep you posted on any developments. But, right now you can enjoy your free swaps!

I bought 2 fuel rods about 2 years ago. Love the invention and swapped out all the time. Between me and the boys we used them alot. Finding a machine to swap out gave you a chance to check out different areas in Disney world.
