The Walt Disney Company has announced a contribution of $1 million to Feeding America® to support efforts to rescue and distribute produce to children and families who need it most.

The donation continues a relationship between Disney and Feeding America that began in 2012. Funding from this year’s gift will be used by food banks to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to kids and families facing hunger by removing barriers to source and distribute produce within the community. This includes increasing refrigeration and equipment at food banks, enabling them to provide even more nutritious meals to kids and families.
Feeding America, a network of 200 member food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs, provides meals to more than 46 million people each year. Fresh produce is particularly important toward this end, as it provides a tremendous opportunity to both feed people facing hunger and also offer nutrient-rich foods that can improve health outcomes.

Ironic that the poor people Disney is feeding are the same ones they fired and replaced with foreign workers.
