MICKEY MOUSE AND FRIENDS CHEERED ON THOUSANDS OF WALKERS IN
THE CHOC WALK IN THE PARK, PRESENTED BY THE DISNEYLAND RESORT

19th Annual Event was a colorful, unique celebration of children

Anaheim, Calif. (October 18, 2009) – Thousands of participants, including community members, corporate teams, and current and former patients and families of CHOC Children’s, walked a 5K route through Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure theme parks before they officially opened for the day in the 19th Annual CHOC Walk in the Park, presented by The Disneyland Resort. Walkers enthusiastically held banners and signs, and donned colorful t-shirts to celebrate the health and well being of children, and to memorialize those children who bravely lost their battle against serious disease or illness.

Along the route, participants were encouraged by Disney friends, and celebrated the event’s conclusion in the Downtown Disney District with a variety of live entertainment, food and fun. Proceeds from the annual event will support research and education at CHOC Children’s, and will also support the Kids Care Fund, which helps provide medical care for all children regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
