Jackson Hole Wyoming, the start of our Adventures by Disney just happens to be over 5,500 feet above sea level. We decided in order to make the most of our Adventure, we would head out to Wyoming a few days before the Adventure actually begins. By doing so, we can adjust to the time change and the high altitude and also enjoy the area.
I researched all over the internet (using sites such as tripadvisor) to find a resort that would offer dining, relaxation and excursions. We hope we found just such a place. Our plans include a dawn wildlife safari, an early morning nature hike and an astronomy evening. Joining us at the ranch will be our friends Tod and Sue.
The two National Parks we will be spending time at before and during our Adventures by Disney are The Grand Teton and Yellowstone!
The Grand Teton
“Did you know that Grand Teton National Park was established in both 1929 and 1950? The original 1929 park protected the mountain peaks and the lakes near the base. The boundaries were later expanded in 1950 to include much of the adjacent valley floor. ” Quote and photo from http://www.nps.gov/grte/
Yellowstone National Park
“Did you know that prior to the establishment of the National Park Service, the U.S. Army protected Yellowstone between 1886 and 1918. Fort Yellowstone was established at Mammoth Hot Springs for that purpose.” Quote and photo from http://www.nps.gov/yell
By the time you read this blog, Linda and I should be on our way to Jackson Wyoming. We catch up with the Adventures by Disney group on Tuesday!
During our pre-stay, we will be uploading twitter feeds and photos as time allows.
How to Follow the Adventure!
Once the Adventure by Disney begins on August 25th, there are THREE ways you can follow us! With new social networking, we plan to do something a little different.
TWITTER
There is a program called “Twitpic” that allows one to send photos via a mobile phone directly to Twitter. Mike Newell, Beci Mahnken, and myself will be posting photos “live” via the Twitter network.

FACEBOOK
We also have our twitter accounts transmitting automatically to our Facebook accounts. So those of you who are “friends” can follow our adventures that way!
BLOGS
At the same time, AllEars team members Jack Marshall and Debbie Koma will be back home copying our Twitter photos and combining them into one daily blog. So, you can follow us either here, on Twitter or on Facebook.
We have been told that there are areas where we will travel that have limited, if any, cell phone service, but we’ll make it up once we get service back.
I hope this provides some cool ways for you to follow us on the adventure of a lifetime, an Adventure by Disney to Wyoming!
