Foreground Objects at Epcot

More on Aperture this week with a pinch of composition. I am going to guess most of the time the subject you are photographing is in front of something. Have you ever tried putting something in front of the subject? During last year’s Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, a temporary entertainment location was put … Continue reading "Foreground Objects at Epcot"

Adjusting White Balance Inside the American Adventure

One of my favorite entertainers is the Voices of Liberty a cappella group at Walt Disney World. They perform shows inside the American Adventure under the rotunda at Epcoot’s World Showcase. The area was designed for the acoustics and the talented singers take full advantage of them. But (isn’t there always one?), the lighting for … Continue reading "Adjusting White Balance Inside the American Adventure"

Next to dining, my guess would be shopping as the next most popular thing to do at Walt Disney World. This being one week away from Black Friday, America’s day to spend freely for the holiday season, I thought I would share with you a few photos from the shops around the resort. Remember, to … Continue reading "Shopping Around Walt Disney World"

One never knows when a new photographic opportunity will present itself. At Walt Disney World, it could happen while talking with friends in one of Epcot’s countries. This happened to me last week while in Italy. A fanfare of drums and trumpets was heard before a parade of colorful men came into the pavilion with … Continue reading "Flag Wavers of Sansepolcro Italy in Epcot"

Part 1: A family’s trip through Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival

Posted on
As my kids have gotten older, they have come to appreciate, and even look forward to, the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival almost as much as my husband and I do. Here, I'll share our family's favorites. Of course, every child's palate is different, but perhaps this guide will help your family find some new favorites you might not have considered. Years of experience have taught my family that we need at least two visits to the event to be able sample everything that interests us. No matter which side of the World Showcase we start on -- and even with sharing the appetizer-size portions among our family of four -- we cannot make it past the American Adventure with any room left in our bellies.

Photo Sequence: Serveur Amusant

One of the things you can try the next time you set out to take photographs is to tell a story. An easy way to do that is to shoot sequential shots of some physical change or act. It can be anything like a bike ride or a baby trying a new food. If you’re … Continue reading "Photo Sequence: Serveur Amusant"
