Review of Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort)

We stayed here for the first time September 15th-20th. The resort itself is beautiful-everything is clean, plenty of lifeguards, pool activities, dining options. Our housekeeper did an amazing job keeping everything stocked. The boat to the Magic Kingdom takes about 5 minutes to get there and is a beautiful ride. We previously stayed at Pop Century and it seems that except for the buses, you really get what you pay for. Pop was literally a motel with bus service- food court was a mess, we constantly had to call for more towels/shampoo, no activities that I saw. Buses, however- I'm all for saving money where you can but I think a Deluxe resort should have Deluxe bus service. We never really had to wait for a bus(maybe 5-10 minutes tops) but the bus makes multiple stops before you reach your destination. Our trip to Animal Kingdom took 40 minutes!!! We had to stop at either the Floridian or the Campgrounds, then the water park and then on to the Kingdom. I might be a little biased because I have horrible car anxiety but if you can get a direct bus at a Value, you should be able to have it at a Deluxe.

I was looking forward to Earl of Sandwich after reading the great reviews, but my whole family left very disappointed. The place was jammed packed and most of the food was set up behind the line, crowded by customers. I prefer to get bottled beverages with our DDP so we can carry them around the parks hassle free, but our cashier told us they weren't covered by the dining plan since they were over $3.00. Okay fine, but sure seems expensive. So I grabbed a small fruit cup as a dessert. Noooope, not included either. Neither were my daughters brownie bites. They were all over $3.00. She pretty much told us to pick a bag of chips and a cookie. Our sandwiches were okay, but my daughter disliked her Italian sandwich very much. On the way out I couldn't help but give a longing glance over at Wolfgang Puck Express. We will not be back here ever again.

This was as good as I expected. Our family shared the spicy chicken waffle and the Nutella and fruit waffle. Both were amazing. Didn't like getting chips and a pre packaged cookie with the dining plan, but the waffles made up for it. We will definitely be back!

Dined here on 21st September, a great evening, great service and wonderful food, I had the veal shank (ideal for hungry tummies), Keryn had braised ribs, both cooked to perfection.

Stayed here this past week with my wife and three kids. It was wonderful. We had a savannah view so we were able to walk out on a balcony and watch the animals. The pool was awesome, the parking garage was right under our room. The room was quiet, and plenty large enough. They showed movies at night. The play rooms were great. They offered shuttle service every five minutes to Jambo which was nice. The pool there was good too. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The only negative I would say is no quick service dining on property. We didn't do the ddp so it didn't matter much.
Loved it. Would definitely do it again.

My husband and I stayed at CSR mid Sept 2013, visiting Disney for the third time. The first two times were at a Deluxe resort, but to save a little money we dropped down to the moderate level. Friends of ours had stayed there and liked it and our travel agent had also liked it so we decided to give it a try.
Where to begin. We arrived at 8pm at night. After checking in we were give a map and pointed to the door. After stumbling around in the dark for 15 or so minutes we found our room in building 9B.
At check in I asked about being in business class and all I got were blank looks. Not good. As well, I had special ordered and surprise for my husband which did contain alcohol so I would have to sign for it. I told the clerk (quietly) as it was a surprise. The person who went to get the form for me to sign brought the gift basket out with him...so much for the surprise. The asked if I wanted to carry to my room. Yep sure why not.
The next morning I went back to the front desk to ask about the business class and its perks. Again blank looks. I gave up after that. I guess business class means a room closer to the main building.
Overall the experience was not magical at all. No towel animals, the staff was robotic and rude. I will no be returning.

I am consistently disappointed with Disney's dessert (except for 'Ohana's bread pudding), but not anymore! The cream cheese wontons rate right up there with 'Ohana. Our server was down to earth and fun. The entrees were good. Only complaint is, my curry had zero kick. Next time I will get the skirt steak and shrimp. The restaurant is supposed to reflect a rich man's mansion. He has supposedly ran into hard times and converted his home into a hotel and restaurant. The artifacts are actually from the area and we were encouraged to take a look around.
Pros:
Oh baby, the fried wontons!Cons:

We arrived in time for our reservation. The amount of strollers parked outside and screaming babies in the waiting area was scary, but never ended up being a problem. Heard the hostess tell the couple before us they were taking walk jn's. Nevertheless, we waited about about 30 minutes to be seated. Walk in's got to eat before us. The restaurant was cute, filled with lots of nostalgia that reminds me of my grandmas house when I was little, so waiting wasn't bad.
We were seated at a table with its own tv and faux kitchen. So cute! Our waitress was very sarcastic and funny. We loved her. Hubby and I had the leftovers, while DD had the fried chicken. While the pot roast and meatloaf were good, the chicken was amazing. Cooked to perfection. The brownie a la mode was just okay, but I was so full I didn't really care. I will definitely come back.

I would like to give this place an eight, but I cant. Our server ran around like a crazy man, taking care of numerous tables, so we didn't get many refills. Plus, the food took a while to come out. Food itself was pretty good. The turkey was moist. Colonial theming was nice. Disney really needs more servers during the free dining program.

I enjoyed Starbucks more than I care to share during our trip. I was all iced pumpkin spice lattes, and huge frappacinno's for my snack credits ;). The place was consistently well staffed and friendly. On the night of Mickey's Not So Scary they offered the cutest themed cupcakes. DD wanted to try something new and they recommended a cotton candy frap from the secret menu. It was delicious. I was apprehensive when I found out Starbucks was coming to the World, but not anymore. It fits right in.
