Early 2016 - PERMANENT CLOSUREDowntown Disney : Downtown DisneyHouse of Blues Relocating The House of Blues has announced plans to relocate in 2016. Citing a need for expansion, the House of Blues will be moving to GardenWalk Mall of Anaheim. The Downtown Disney location closes on May 31, 2016.

Jan. 04 - May. 01a bug's land : Disney California AdventureIt's Tough to Be a Bug Closed for installation of Jungle Book preview. Preview opens March 18, and will run for an unspecified period of time. The movie opens in theaters on April 15.
Jan. 10 - Jul. 29Frontierland : Disneyland ParkRivers of America Attractions Disneyland Railroad and most Rivers of America attractions (including Fantasmic!) are closed temporarily to make room for the construction of the new Star Wars land. Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island has re-opened. Fantasmic! opens on July 17. Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes, Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia and Disneyland Railroad reopen on July 29.
Jan. 10 - PERMANENT CLOSUREHollywood Land : Disney California AdventureAladdin "Disney's Aladdin -- A Musical Spectacular" closed on January 10, 2016, after nearly 14,000 shows since its debut in January 2003. The story of "Frozen" will take Aladdin's place in an all-new theatrical production opening May 27,2016 at the Hyperion Theater.

Jan. 08 - Spring 2017Grand Californian : HotelsGrand California Pool Area Refurbishment All pools at the Grand Californian are closed while the entire pool and cabana area is refurbished. To minimize guest disruption, any activities that may create noise will not start before 9:00 a.m. Guests may use the pools and waterslides at the Paradise Pier Hotel and the Disneyland Hotel. Shuttle service from the entrance to the Grand Californian to the other resorts is available for those wishing to use the pools.

The show is expected to continue through the spring season.

The sneak peak will feature special in-theater effects. Props and costumes will be on display in the lobby. The film, starring Emma Watson as Belle, opens in theaters on March 17.

Mar. 10 - Apr. 16Disney California Adventure : Disneyland ResortDisney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival The expanded Food and Wine Festival will include even more Festival Marketplaces to enjoy this year, plus enhanced Festival-inspired menus at existing restaurants and eateries. Guests will enjoy culinary experiences created for the whole family, including a variety of food, beverage and lifestyle seminars, demonstrations and presentations. The Festival will also feature ticketed events, such as culinary demonstrations, beer, wine and spirit seminars, premium dining events and demonstrations by celebrity chefs such as Guy Fieri, Robert Irvine, Duff Goldman and Keegan Gerhard.

Participating restaurants include Blue Bayou, Cafe Orleans, Royal Street Veranda, Mint Julep Bar, Harbour Galley, and churro cart.

Jan. 05 - Mar. 06Downtown Disney : Downtown DisneyStar Wars: Secrets of the Empire Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire is a hyper-reality experience coming to Downtown Disney that will allow guests to walk through the Star Wars universe, combining physical sets with real-time interactive special effects. Jan. 08 - Jun. 22Pixar Pier : Disney California AdventurePixar Pier Pixar Pier will transform the current Paradise Pier area into four new neighborhoods inspired by Pixar stories. The first new neighborhood will be based on "The Incredibles." Additional neighborhoods inspired by "Toy Story" and "Inside Out" will open at a later date.

Mar. 02 - Apr. 12Disney California Adventure : Disneyland ResortDisney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival The Festival expands to a six-week run this year, from March 2-April 12, 2018. The Disney Family of Wines Dinner will be a new Signature Event.
Mar. 16 - Apr. 01Resort Wide : Disneyland ResortEggstravaganza Guests can hunt for character-themed Easter eggs that are placed all around the resort - Downtown Disney, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure. There are 12 in each area. There is no charge to participate, but guests can purchase a map for $5.95 (there are separate maps for each area), which comes with stickers to use for each egg found. Whether or not it is complete, the map can be redeemed for a special prize.
Mar. 19 - Opening 2020a bug's land : Disney California AdventureIt's Tough to be a Bug Closed March 19, 2018, to be replaced by the new Marvel Super Heroes area, opening in 2020.
Mar. 20 - Opening 2020a bug's land : Disney California AdventureMarvel Super Heroes-Themed Land The Guardians of the Galaxy will be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will become a completely immersive Super Hero universe. This new land, opening in 2020, will be anchored by the Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, in the adjacent space that is currently occupied by "a bug's land." "It's Tough to Be a Bug" closed March 19; the rest of the land will close September 5.
