There could be potential fire risks given the conditions in Central Florida. Here is everything we currently know.

A drought has been hitting parts of Florida, and fires have been breaking out, specifically a large fire in North Florida earlier this week. However, now Central Florida will be under a fire weather watch starting tomorrow, April 21st, at 12:00 PM through 6 PM.

Central FL Fire Watch April 21st, 2026

Winds will be moving northeast to east-northeast with gusts up to 15MPH. As well, humidity is 28 to 35%, which is lower than usual, and these two events combined make the conditions right for fires to spread.

Here is the full list of affected Central Florida Counties under fire watch:

  • Orange
  • Seminole
  • Osceola
  • Inland Volusia
  • Northern Lake
  • Southern Lake
  • Okeechobee

As such, the National Weather Service suggests avoiding outdoor burning and any open flames, including grills or campfires. This update should not affect the operations of the parks, although it could mean limited experiences for those staying at the Fort Wilderness Campground, as campfires will most likely be limited and Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long may not occur. Talk to Cast Members at your hotel for the latest updates.
