6 CHANGES Happening in March in Disney World

This year is a pretty great year to be a Disney World fan. There are openings left and right, like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin reopening, and even our beloved Cinderella Castle is getting repainted back to its original blue.

While there’s a lot happening the whole year, there are even some things happening in March, including a MAJOR closure. Ready to see what’s in store for March?

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith closes — March 2nd

The time has come to say goodbye to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith as it transforms into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets. We’ll probably still be calling it Rock ‘n’, but we’re pretty excited to see our Muppet friends in it. The Muppet version is set to open sometime in summer, but we don’t have an exact date quite yet. If you want to ride it on the last day, make sure it’s on March 1st or earlier, because on the 2nd, it’s closed!

EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival starts — March 4th

It’s Bambi!

The prettiest EPCOT festival is back! It will run till June 1st, but March 4th is the official first day when the booths open and the snacks start rolling. There’s fun food, a butterfly garden, a Spike the Bee scavenger hunt, and a free concert series you do not want to miss.

Daylight Savings starts — March 8th

Happily Ever After

Who’s ready to spring forward? We are not, but the sun will start to set later in the day, giving us more daylight hours, which generally means the parks start to be open later and nighttime entertainment gets pushed back a bit. Make sure you keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app for up to date inforamtion for shows and park hours.

Last day for Annual Passholder perks — March 15th

Zootopia AP Magnet

If you’re an Annual Passholder, don’t forget to grab your special Zootopia magnet! You’ll want to pick it up by the 15th or earlier, and you can also grab the Carrot Cake Sundae, which is vanilla ice cream topped with carrot cake and pecans, as an Annual Passholder exclusive before it ends on the 15th as well.

Grand Floridian Tea Room reopens — March 19th

Our team at AllEars is freaking out over this! We’ve been waiting not so patiently for it to reopen, and there will be an all-new Alice in Wonderland-themed menu. Reservations open on February 19th, and we’re expecting it to fill up fast, but don’t worry, this is not temporary and is expected to stay open for a long time.

Eggstravaganza Scavenger Hunt starts

Spring is here!

We love scavenger hunts, and while you can grab the Flower and Garden Festival one till the end of the festival, you can grab the limited-time Easter-themed one, too. You can find huge Easter eggs around EPCOT, all decorated to look like different Disney rabbits, and earn a prize at the end.

It looks like we have a pretty busy month ahead of us! Make sure you keep following AllEars, where we’ll be there on opening day for the Grand Floridian Tea Room and Flower and Garden Festival, sharing all the details here with you!
