Why Disney Experts Are Avoiding EPCOT On March 1st

Big things are happening in 2026 in the Disney theme parks, and if you aren’t prepared, they can really throw a wrench in your plans.

EPCOT

Some spots have closed forever, new attractions are opening, and park hours are temporarily changing. If you’re headed to EPCOT in March 2026, you need to read this!

Throughout the year, runners of all ages travel to Disney World to participate in runDisney events. They have different weekends dedicated to running races around the resort, and some races even take you behind the scenes of the beloved theme parks. While that is really amazing for those racers, it does mean park hours might be impacted!

Well, that’s the case for EPCOT on March 1st, 2026, thanks to the Disney Princess Half Marathon! On March 1st, the park will open at 10 AM. The parks will be quite a bit busier that weekend thanks to the event, which takes place from February 26th until March 2nd, 2026.

The weekend includes a 5K, 10K, and the Princess Half Marathon. If you really want to push yourself, you can do both the 10K and the half-marathon to complete the Disney Fairytale Challenge. Once you’re good and tired, you can wrap up the weekend with Princess Yoga at Hollywood Studios!

EPCOT might be opening late on March 1st, but honestly, that’s okay! Take the extra hour of sleep, then hit the parks with fresh feet and a hungry stomach. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news and updates.
