Universal has been on an absolute roll lately! They’ve been getting ready for the grand opening of their brand-new park, Epic Universe, on May 22nd. They’ve also announced another whole new park coming to the UK.

Now we have news on an all-new experience coming from Universal Destination & Experiences! Horror fans get ready, because a terrifying horror house is opening this summer—and we have all the details.
Universal Destinations & Experiences will be opening, for the first time ever, Universal Horror Unleashed. This year-round horror experience is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before — it will fully immerse you in the world of horror movies. It’s set to open in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the AREA15 District on August 14th, and we cannot wait.

Guests will enter an abandoned production warehouse where they’ll encounter unimaginable monsters and creatures around every corner. Do you think you have the bravery to move your way through the terrifyingly themed and immersive areas?

Within the warehouse, you’ll find four haunted houses, guaranteed to make your worst fears come true. Here are the four themed houses you can journey through if you dare:
- Universal Monsters
- Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre
- Scarecrow: The Reaping

The one walk-through experience that Universal has been raving about is the house based on Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the iconic 1974 horror film. Guests will have the (un)pleasure of coming face-to-face with Leatherface, as well as the rest of the family!

This house is said to bring the original film to life in a shot-for-shot linear sequence, putting guests in the footsteps of the victims. This experience will truly be one-of-a-kind, as you’ll face horrifying yet iconic characters and scenes from the movie. Your journey will start in a Texan cemetery, and then you’ll encounter the Old Man at the dusty gas station. Universal teased that this part will feature a “chilling barbecue scene”. Soon after entering the home, guests will find themselves in the presence of Leatherface, every member of his deranged family, and their victims. Will you be able to escape him and the faint sounds of a chainsaw that follow you?
Universal Horror Unleashed will also offer a themed area experience called the “Kill Vault”. You’ll find yourself surrounded by rusty knives and machetes, and some creepy characters, as well. This area will also feature “Rough Cuts”, a place where you can feast on “chainsaw” carved small plates and watch a variety of circus acts. These highly immersive areas are a great way to get up close and personal with different characters. Ask around, you may even hear a haunting backstory or two! The place will also have breathtaking performances, dropping guests into horror entertainment like never before.

Lastly, there will be a vast array of food and beverage offerings. It will have themed bars and food locations, with a variety of craft cocktails and themed bites. Of course, it will also include a retail location, where you can find unique collectible merchandise and more.

Universal Destinations and Experiences will share more details for their new Universal Horror Unleashed over the next few months, before their official opening on August 14th. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on their website, so if you know you want to go, grab a ticket now!
