Disney+ is home to all the Disney content you could want. You can watch movies and shows from Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. It’s truly the best streaming platform for a Disney fan!

Well, it’s time to make sure your Disney+ subscriptions are renewed, because a new movie is coming to the platform at the end of the month.
Marvel fans, get ready for the next instalment of the Captain America legacy to come to streaming! Captain America: Brave New World will officially be on Disney+ starting May 28th.

In a world that no longer has the Captain America they know and love, follow Sam Wilson as he tries to carry on the legacy that Steve Rogers passed on to him. The movie is a suspenseful, thrilling, spy espionage type film — filled with high-stakes action and breathtaking cinematic visuals!

This movie contains many different twists and turns, with a global conspiracy and an epic showdown with the Red Hulk! The movie drew in audiences worldwide to theaters, becoming the second highest-grossing film of 2025 domestically.

Anthony Mackie returns to his role as Captain America. Before taking up the mantle, he played the Falcon starting in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Teaming up with Mackie in Brave New World is Danny Ramirez. He plays the new version of the Falcon!

The film has no shortage of powerful antagonists! Harrison Ford joins the MCU for the first time as General Ross/Red Hulk. General Ross was played by William Hurt before he sadly passed away. The character of General Ross was first introduced in Captain America: Civil War. The other antagonist is The Leader, played by Tim Blake Nelson. He’s coming back to the Marvel Universe after almost two decades, when he first appeared in the Incredible Hulk.

What’s nice about having all the Marvel content on the same streaming platform is that it makes it easier to view everything you’ll need to in order to get the backstory for the next movie. We all know that the MCU is a connected universe, and although you can watch all the films on their own, watching previous content makes it easier to understand what’s going on.

There are two notable Marvel projects we recommend watching before diving into Brave New World. The first is the Disney+ original series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. This show is the introduction to Sam Wilson as Captain America. It goes through his trials and tribulations as he is conflicted about picking up the mantle of the beloved hero.

The second movie you should watch is The Incredible Hulk, the MCU’s first iteration of the powerful gamma monster. Brave New World, in a way, is like the sequel to the Hulk movie, in addition to being a Captain America movie. There are a few characters and plot points that draw back to the 2008 Hulk movie, including The Leader.

We’re excited for Brave New World to officially come to Disney+, and we know fans can’t wait either. Remember, it’ll be available on May 28th, so renew those subscriptions if you want to watch! For more Disney news and updates, be sure to follow us at AllEars.
