Why We’re Worried About the Bathrooms in Epic Universe

There are certain things that are essential to a theme park: Thrilling rides and attractions, intricate themed environments that create a sense of place and time, good food and drink options, unique souvenirs, and bathrooms.

That’s right, bathrooms. While they might not be the most exciting topic to discuss, dependable bathroom facilities that can serve massive crowds are integral to the infrastructure of any theme park. Which brings us to one of our worries about Universal’s Epic Universe.

Over the course of our initial visits to Epic Universe during preview periods, we noticed something about the park’s bathrooms: They’re small.

In fact, we’re a bit worried that the bathrooms are a bit too small to handle the massive demand the highly anticipated park is likely to have throughout its first summer and year of operation.

Now, this doesn’t mean they’re not nice. Quite the contrary, we were impressed by the park’s facilities. Whether it’s the tranquil, out-of-the-way bathrooms in Celestial Park or the quiet bathrooms near the Spit Fyre Grill in the Isle of Berk, there are some nice relatively private options around the park.

In addition, Epic Universe features some of the best themed bathrooms we’ve ever seen. Those in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter capture the grandiose decoration of the Ministry of Magic, while those in Super Nintendo World capture the fun of an underwater Mario Level, complete with effects, and the Dark Universe facilities provide the same horror movie aesthetic as the rest of Darkmoor.

In other words, the bathrooms at Epic Universe are very nice, themed facilities, but we’re just not sure if they’ll be able to keep up with the massive crowds that are going to be descending on the park for the foreseeable future.
