Oh, Disney World’s Galactic Starcruiser hotel… how we miss you.
The Star Wars Hotel, aka the Galactic Starcruiser, was a fully immersive, 2-day, 2-night adventure that brought guests into the Star Wars world. Guests could be as involved in the story as they’d like, or sit back and watch it all unfold. Unfortunately, the experience closed due to poor performance — but that doesn’t mean you can’t still shop for exclusive Star Wars Hotel souvenirs!
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (aka the Star Wars Hotel), Disney’s ambitious and expensive attempt at an immersive Star Wars experience, opened its hatch doors in 2022.
However, due to its high price tag and niche experience, it closed its doors less than two years after opening. Fans of the experience were heartbroken, and even Disney executives kept bringing it up!
Even with its closure, comments about the Starcruiser keep popping up, and we’ve even seen exclusive merchandise make its way online — like with this new Star Wars lightsaber hilt we spotted!
The lightsaber hilt that you could only get if you had boarded a cruise onboard the Halcyon of the Chandrila Star Line is now available online! And, you can personalize the hilt with one of 26 interchangeable Aurebesh letter charms that come with the hilt. This hilt also features sound effects and glows blue when you get a coordinating lightsaber blade.
The hilt also comes with a case that has a hinged lid and lined interior, as well as the Chandrila Star Line logo on it. The hilt coordinates with Disney’s lightsaber clip, lightsaber sheath, and lightsaber hilt stand which is sold separately.
But, what good is a lightsaber hilt if you don’t have the actual lightsaber blade?! You can also get a 36″ lightsaber blade straight from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge online, too.
This blade has contacts in the bottom that allow it to be powered by the hilt — which makes it light up. And, it will also work with all Legacy lightsaber hilts along with lightsabers from Savi’s Workshop in Disney World and Disneyland.
