Universal Orlando has changed its health and safety policies once again, no longer requiring that fully vaccinated guests wear face masks in the parks and resort area.

We’ve been keeping track of what all the changes look like in Universal, so today we headed into the parks to see what it is like with the updated guidelines.
Updated Guidelines
Before we get into what is looks like in the parks right now, let’s break down the new requirements. Previously, Universal was allowing all guests, regardless of their vaccination status, to remove their face masks when outdoors only. Guests still needed to wear masks when in queues (even outdoor ones) and when inside shops, restaurants, and other indoor areas.

But, updated guidance now removes all face mask requirements for fully vaccinated guests.

Universal will not ask guests to provide proof of vaccination, but will still require those who are not fully vaccinated to wear face masks when indoors and in queues.

These changes are in addition to those that have already taken place in Universal, including the elimination of temperature checkpoints at park entrances, and the reduction of physical distancing requirements.
What Things Look Like
So, let’s take a look at how this new policy is being implemented in the parks!

There were signs all over the park with information on the new mask policy.

Distancing markers were still in place on the ground heading into the parks, where crowds were making their way inside for a BUSY day.

Team Members are still required to continue to wear their masks at all times, despite the new face mask policy in Universal Orlando.

We noticed a variety of guests both wearing masks and not wearing masks at attractions…

…and walking around the parks.

Indoor and outdoor queues were both busy, most likely due to the Memorial Day Weekend crowds.

Still, guests were asked to follow the distancing measures in place (although they’re reduced), even if the face mask policy has changed.

Although there were quite a few guests who opted to go maskless, we wtill saw a number of visitors with them on. Universal won’t be checking vaccination status, but please remember to be courteous to those around you with these shifting guidelines!
