We are a little more than a week away from the historic reopening of Disneyland!

We’ve been staying up-to-date with all the requirements for visiting the reopened parks per California’s theme park reopening guidelines. For example, it’s been noted that only California residents will be allowed to visit the state’s theme parks. But, could that be changing? Here’s what we know.
California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy lays out the requirements for reopening various types of business in each COVID-19 risk tier. In the Moderate Tier, parks can operate at 25% capacity to in-state visitors only. However, it also notes to check the current travel advisory in effect from the California Department of Public Health.

The current travel advisory notes that out-of-state travelers who are vaccinated against COVID-19 are not required to receive a test or quarantine after entering California.

Additionally, the Blueprint states, “Fully vaccinated persons from out of state may visit or attend activities or events that are restricted to in-state visitors.” So…does that include theme parks like Disneyland?

Reporter Scott Gustin tweeted that he was able to confirm with SeaWorld that they have officially changed their policy regarding out-of-state, fully vaccinated visitors.
Confirmed with Sea World they changed their policy for out-of-state guests following last week’s addendum to the Activity & Business Tiers Chart.

Scott Gustin has also now posted an update showing that Sea World San Diego has updated the notice on their website regarding out-of-state visitors. Previously, the website noted that out-of-state visitors would be required to show a negative COVID-19 test, taken during a specific period of time, or proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccine. Now, the language has been updated to remove the testing portion to mirror the addendum language more. Testing was not addressed in California’s addendum to its Blueprint guidelines.
Update: Sea World San Diego has updated the notice on their website and removed the part about “or a negative COVID-19 test” to make their policy mirror the addendum (which did not mention testing).
