If you’re a Disney Halloween fan, surely you’ve heard the news. You have, haven’t you? Well, just in case you’re one of the few who hasn’t: It’s finally been confirmed after years and years of rumors that Disney is remaking its cult classic 1993 movie “Hocus Pocus.”
The TV movie will have a new cast and new director, so say “goodbye” to Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy and Kenny Ortega. “Deadline” reports that David Kirschner will be the executive producer, and Scarlett Lacey will write the script. Plus, the movie will be “reimagined” for Disney Channel.
But before that happens, you can enjoy numerous screenings of “Hocus Pocus” this month on Freeform (formerly ABC Family) during its 13 Nights of Halloween programming event, including a marathon on October 31:
